Self Control In The Last Days

The lack of self-control in today's society is evident all around us. When a person has no divine guidance and no meaningful purpose, they lack healthy boundaries concerning their behavior, attitudes and choices.

When was the last time you examined your spiritual walk, your emotions, your relationships, social media habits, spoken words, and even your eating and financial habits?

Living in the last days takes God’s supernatural grace and ability. The Holy Spirit lives inside of us and He will empower us to walk in freedom rather than live at a low-level of existence. But  we must be intentional in our relationship with God each day to fulfill God’s plan for us to reach this lost and hurting world. Time is running out.

Does The Bible Support the Death Penalty?

Genesis 9:6, "From the hand of every man’s brother I will require the life of man. Whoever sheds man’s blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man."

God is the one who instituted capital punishment. However, there are some qualifiers, and there are some exceptions. The original reason God demanded the death penalty for certain sins was not only because they were heinous crimes, but because death is a severe deterrent to prevent others from committing them again. If sin is addressed and punished early on, the rest of society will not embrace it.

Those Who Mock God

A clear indication that we are living in the last of the last days is the continual attack and mockery against Christianity. Last week, potentially over one billion people watched the Olympics and witnessed the world applaud an offensive, demonic mockery of Leonardo da Vinci’s painting, "The Last Supper." This painting portrays Jesus Christ’s last meal with His disciples before His crucifixion.

As this kind of attack on Christianity continues to grow in frequency and shock value, we can be sure of one thing. "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap." (Galatians 6:7)

Jesus Is Coming

Jesus Christ came to earth the first time as our Savior. He died on the cross, was buried, and rose from the dead. He said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Do you know that Jesus Christ is coming back again, but this time as King and Judge of all the earth? The Bible warns us in 2 Peter 3:3-4 that in the last days scoffers will say, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

Today, many people have no regard for His second coming and even go so far as to mock it.

The Spiritual World Is Real

If we could see into the spiritual realm, we would witness a fierce battle between angels and demons over nations. We would observe the evil spirits influencing individuals to commit evil acts. We would see the spirits of confusion, hatred, fear and addiction holding people in bondage. Every day, we see the evidence of this spiritual realm and the battle between good and evil in our world.

If we could see into the spiritual realm we would also see angels working for God in the protection and salvation of countless millions. And we do see the power of prayer, and how world events and circumstances change with God’s intervention. We see the power of God’s word to change hearts when it is heard and received.

God's Plan For Man

God’s original plan for man was to live forever in paradise, and not work by the sweat of his brow. When God created Adam and Eve, there was no sickness, disease, or lack. There was no death or destruction of any kind. 

Satan, who was called Lucifer chose to rebel against God because he wanted to be like God. Pride arose in his heart, and he convinced one-third of the angels to follow him. He was, and is, extremely persuasive. The Bible calls him the “father of lies.”

Any rebellion against God’s commands is sin, and sin brings forth death. Death is the penalty for sin, and sin separates us from God in this present life, and for eternity. Because of God’s great love, His plan has always included reconciling man’s relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Many possess masterfully designed defense systems, the ability to thrive in hostile environments, precise navigation abilities, and amazing complexities within their bodies. The evidence of design is overwhelming!

The Tunnel That Leads To Hell

During my vision of hell, Jesus took me high above the earth. While I was coming up out of hell, we were in a whirlwind tunnel that extended far above the surface of the earth. It looked similar to a tornado, circular in motion, with a narrow funnel. It was terrifying to observe. I saw people falling into this whirlwind, one after another after another, back down into hell. They were completely helpless. I knew that these were people who had just died, who didn’t know God, who had rejected His free gift of salvation. It was an extremely sad and disturbing sight because I also knew that they were never getting out.

I knew it was too late for them.

Am I Still Saved If I Sin?

Someone recently asked me, “Bill, you said in one of your podcasts that the only sin which sends a person to hell is the rejection of the provision for our sins, which is Jesus Christ."

They added, "If a man professes to believe in Jesus Christ, lives a secret sinful life and even feels guilt about it, but dies in such a state, will he be saved for his initial confession?”

The Gates Of Hell

In the vision that God gave to Bill about hell, he saw prison cells in a place that was like a dungeon. There were rough-hewn, stone walls with a gates and bars. 

The Bible indicates that there are actual gates at the entrance of hell. In addition, scripture states that there are bars in hell. Gates and bars would be indicative of a prison, and hell is just that.

Bill and his wife Annette point us to scripture to confirm that hell is indeed a place of torment and captivity.
